It is possible to have a lot of different groups inside your Plek with different subjects and goals, e.g. projects, departments, activities or carpooling.
In Plek there are different ways to see the groups of which you are a member or groups where other people are a member. There are also different ways to find the group of which you want to become a member.
Pay attention: you can only see open and closed groups where other people are a member of, not their hidden groups.
Searching your group via the menu
There are multiple ways to search for groups. Via the menu you can go to the overview of all the groups.
- Click on Groups
The group page is now opened. In the standard setting, the first groups you see are the groups of which you are a member.
On the left side, you see different filters, including ‘My Groups’, ‘Open Groups’, and ‘All Groups’.
- Click on Open Group for an overview of all the open groups. Thus, the open groups of which you are a member and of which you are not a member. It is possible to become a member of these groups without permission.
- Click on All Groups to also see the groups where you need to have permission or receive an invitation to become a member. Now it is also possible to see the closed groups inside your Plek.
It is also possible to filter certain groups, e.g. Department or Project.
If you want to become a member of one of the groups, take the following steps:
- Click on the group of which you want to become a member.,
- If it is an open group, click on Become Member. If it is a closed group, click on ‘Request Access to the Group’ (the group manager first needs to accept your request).
If for your Plek a taxonomy is created by the Admin of your Plek, then you also see this overview. By adding a taxonomy, it is easy to create a filter for e.g. departments, specializations or projects.
Searching your group with the global search engine
Searching inside Plek is very easy with the global search function. You not only search through the titles of groups but also through the content of groups. As a result, you only see the groups of which you can become a member or of which you are a member.
Below is a short video where we go through the steps.
TIPS!
Do you want to connect with your colleagues? You can see at their profile in which groups there are and which messages they upload.
You can also find your own groups on your own profile page.
