Messages can be found at multiple locations inside Plek: at the homepage, via ‘Messages’ in the navigation balk, in groups, at profile pages, by agenda items, in your email, and below the notification button in the navigation balk. Messages can be displayed in different ways, but you can always click on the title of the message to open it.
Messages at the home page
When you are logged into Plek, you can see at the home page the overview of the most recent uploaded messages. You can view the homepage in Dashboard view or in Timeline view. In the Dashboard view, you see all the channels of your Plek in different blocks. In every block, the most recent messages are uploaded. In the Timeline view, the message and reactions are chronologically ordered.
Overview of public messages
An overview of all the public messages can be found under Messages in the navigation balk. Public messages are uploaded in a channel and are visible for everyone inside your Plek. Every message shows in which channel it is uploaded.
Just as with groups and persons it is possible to search through the message overview with the search bar.
Messages in groups
Messages which are uploaded within groups are not shown in the overview of the public messages page. If you are a member of the group, you can see the messages inside the group at your homepage at the Dashboard view (in the block of the concerning group). All the messages within the group can also be found by clicking on Groups in the navigation balk. Messages uploaded in open groups are visible for everyone. Messages uploaded in closed or hidden groups are only visible for members of the concerning group.
Messages on a profile page
At the profile page of a colleague, you can find their personal information, but also the open and closed group of which he is member, documents, and recent messages (which you have the right to see) which he has uploaded. If you view the profile page of a colleague, you can see what he is recently been occupied with. This makes it easier to connect with colleagues.
Messages a reaction on an agenda item
If you open an agenda item, you have the opportunity to react to this event. This could, for example, be a question to the organizer or information you want to share with the rest of the persons who are interested in this event. These event updates are showed under the agenda item and at the homepage in the Timeline overview.
Messages from your email
If you received an email about a message (or the overview of recent uploaded messages), then you can click on the title of the message to directly open it.
Message from the notification button
At the top right in the navigation balk, a little bell is placed, which gives you your notifications. If someone liked or react to your message, you can find it here. Click on the notification to go to the concerning message.
Below is a short video where we go through the steps.
