Filtering Documents with Taxonomy

In Plek it is possible, just as in Google, to find everything via the search engine. If the admin of your Plek has created a taxonomy, you can also filter documents. Thus, in your Plek it is very easy to find documents with certain characteristics such such as a manual, protocol or press release.

Filtering Documents with Taxonomy

To search documents with the help of taxonomy, you have to take the following steps:

  1. Click on Documents in the navigation balk.

On the left side, the taxonomy is listed. The admin of your Plek has set this in a certain way so it is easier for you to find documents. In our example, there are three filters: Document Type, Department, and Theme.

  1. Click on one of the filters.

The taxonomy under the filter folds out. In our example, under the Department filter, the characteristic Human Resources and Sales are folded out.

  1. Click on one of the characteristics.

In our example, we select Human Resources. On the left side, you will see that this characteristic is selected by a little cross.  On the right side, you see the documents which possess this characteristic. Sometimes it is possible to further filter your documents.

  1. Then, click on another filter.

In our example, we select Document Type, which has the characteristics Manual, Guide, and Protocol.

  1. Click on one of the characteristics.

Now you see on the left side that two different characteristics are selected. Only the documents which possess both these characteristics are being shown on the right side.

To remove a characteristic click on the cross at the right side of a characteristic. It is also possible to further filter for characteristics (depending on the size of your taxonomy).
